…in which regular blogging takes a backseat to book writing. I have 20,000 words to show for the month so I’m not going to rough myself up too badly for blogging haphazardly. Here’s hoping that I can balance my writing better in April.
Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
Nocturnes by John Connolly
The Book of Evidence by John Banville
Challenge Wrap-up: Reading Ireland Month 2016
I read four of six books set aside for the challenge (see above) and started Let the Great World Spin by Colum McCann. I hoped that once I got into it the curse* would pass, but The Book of Evidence intervened instead. Unfortunately, The Heather Blazing didn’t make it in this month—I botched my book order and it hasn’t yet arrived. I picked up Connolly’s Night Music with Nocturnes and will start it tonight. How wonderful to have another month of creepy bedtime stories!
Thank you to Cathy746books for co-hosting this wonderful challenge! I wouldn’t have picked up Banville or Swift this spring without it and I’ve so enjoyed my nightly dose of Connolly. 😀
Mt. TBR Challenge
The Picture of Dorian Gray
*For the last few years, this book has been dropped in the favor of something else when I pick it up. Sometimes, I’ll carry it with me to bed and find something else on the way. No other book has been so consistently superseded and I can’t explain why.
